Refections

This trip was a dream come true for me.  To be able to see Africa was remarkable.  Wildlife living the way they should, fantastic scenery, great food, skilled driver/guides, lovely accommodations made this trip so very successful.  It was expensive but I felt it was worth every penny.  Our grand total for East Africa Explorer with add ons, etc. was $17108.00.  This did not include our round trip airfare from Buffalo to NYC/JFK and return.  That was an additional total amount of $358.00.

We had great traveling companions in Karen and Ed.  The one thing I'd probably change was to book flights between destinations instead of having to endure those long, dusty rides.  Ed seemed to have a bit of a tough time with all that dust.  Ed also did send me a photo disc containing some pictures from our leopard spotting when my camera battery had died.  Thanks Ed!

Another treasure of Africa was the people.  All we met along the way-drivers, guides, staff at our accommodations displayed so much warmth.

Africa was magical.  Safari is more than watching the wildlife.  Far more than checking off a list of animals, birds...  It's being able to experience East Africa untamed, getting a glimpse into nature's magnificent synchrony and understanding how the rhythms of the wild can best be protected for future generations.  Best time and money well spent!

Asante kwa kumbukumbu za Afrika.  Swahili for "Thanks for the memories Africa".
